mods are what make pc games the best. free fan made dlc. and final fantasys an rpg. rpgs tend to have more mods, than other games.

You probably won't find any mods that add content for these games.

There are graphics mods.

They have managed to convert all DAT files to PNG, and back to DAT. The following group is dedicated to modding Final Fantasy titles, and has released that tool. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ff-modding

Also, there is a discussion on the QHIMM forums regarding fixing the bug with FFV's audio.

I've added plenty of content to XIII-2, you'd be surprised what can be done if you put your mind to it.

^ The community group is where it's at if you're interested in this stuff. qhimm is also really good a resource for VII \ VIII in particular.

thanks just joined the group be keeping an eye on it.
pc master race lol.

how hard would it be to port the job system of 5 into 3? i prefer 5s job system as you dont have to level up as a specific class to get max stats, like monk for hp.

Previously in Final Fantasy games, or most RPGs for that matter, the song being played (overworld, field, etc) only gets briefly interrupted by the battle music (when entering a battle). After finishing the battle the previous song continues where it left off.

However, in the FFV Steam release, it resets the song being played after every battle. This will get extremely repetitive later, when you are able to down most mobs in only a few hits.

Ah, FFV is the game where they changed it? I know vanilla FFIV the song restarted each battle

I just check with the GBA version, the music continues where it left off in after the battle.

Age and understanding programming at all aren't necessarily related things.

I've helped someone absolutely clueless on what to do when they ran out of hard drive space once. They didn't know where things went when they saved them, didn't know about temporary files, etc. All they knew was how to click the shortcut to launch an internet browser or a game.

I would really like a mod where you can set the enemy that spawns in the next random encounter. It can be invaluable to farm a kind of enemy both for the bestiary entry, in case you forgot to get it and aim to 100%, and for item stealing. Is there anything like it?

It's doubtlessly possible with Cheat Engine or other memory editing programs. If I recall most older FF games operate off of formation IDs for each fight. It would be a matter of finding and freezing that number to force a certain encounter.

It should have the same pattern as the GBA, so it shouldn't be hard to find. I have a document that could be helpful (check section 4.11 Monster Group Modifier):

I'll give it a try, very kind of both of you ♥

I would love to add more character classes to FFV, but I'm not sure if that's even possible (i.e. character classes are hardcoded).
