Is this the best version of FFV? Also, does it have resoltuion support higher than 1080p?
I played the PSX version years ago and would like to play FFV again. Would you recommend the GBA version or PC? I don't like the new sprites, but I imagine the music sounds better in this version. Also, does it look decent on a 4k monitor?

Music is generally the same as the snes/gba versions, and it looks significantly worse on higher res monitors, you need to download a seamless tile filter to make it look half decent. Sprites are subjective (i like the unique casting sprites for each character and job)

Its full screen is actually an enlarged window, meaning unless you like filtering that seems based on sprite sheets rather than the in game image (which makes seams very visible), you're best setting it to 640x480 full screen. You have to disable DPI scaling too, since the game is not aware of it and will not work correctly with it on, if your scaling is anything other than 100% (as in not scaled).

I think it is the best version personally yes, but it is literally unsupported AT ALL. They plopped this down without acknowledging or fixing a SINGLE bug. Their customer support closes tickets on people with issues that have been identified by fans the very first week. It is abysmal support, and SE should be ashamed.

Most of the time people call something a lazy port I think they are bellyaching in an extreme manner. Not with this one! This was plopped down and they never looked back once.

See this list of issues, from objective down to subjective the lower in the list you go:

I never reviewed this game, because I could not give it a positive review over their treatment of it. It IS still the best version of the game, in my opinion. I actually like the UI other than some quirks like not being able to change the quantity of item selected to buy rapidly. I think they did a fantastic job reworking the spell/background/enemy sprites, and they have a much better localization than the PS1 version. The fact is though, it's literally unsupported. I have never seen such a lazy release in my personal buying experience. TY the Tasmanian Tiger's port is in early access and has had more support than any Final Fantasy release on Steam, or even some new games. If Krome can do that, a multi-billion dollar behemoth like SE can support a game better than this.

it is likely the best version. i have found no critical issues but square enix should get around to fixing them once final fantasy 15 is out. until then their resources is likely spread thin.

They hire other companies to do this. They are an enormous company. This game has literally no QA because they chose not to budget it. I would love to be proven wrong.

they might get other companies to help release the games but patching them does not give them any money so then they would not spend money on that.
