Shield Dragon
I'm doing a four job fiesta so I'm stuck with a party of Berzerker, Time Mage, Time Mage and Geomancer. I'm trying to complete the bestiary, but for the life of me I can't defeat a Shield Dragon before it flees. I've tried everything I can think of but can never damage it enough before it runs away. Can anyone think of a tactic?

You are stuck with those classes only? It looks like he may be vulnerable to berserk and people suggest using a Beastmaster to control him and have him kill himself but that doesn't help you. He's not vulnerable to stop but it looks like he IS vulnerable to slow, so slow on him and haste on whoever does the most damage asap you can try?

Edit:
I don't remember if Shield Dragons become inaccessible at some point but Time Mages can use rods right? Perhaps you can try to attack with this to charm him (no idea if it works):

In a chest in the final dungeon. Sorry if that is no option where you are in the game.

Yeah, in the four job fiesta you basically get assigned 4 jobs that you have to stick to. I noticed the vulnerability to Berserk and was hoping I could inflict it on him with the Wonder Wand but it doesn't get past his permanent reflect status.

I could try slowing him (I always haste my party) but I don't think I'll have enough time still. I might have to try the Power Rod; I'd have thought I'd be able to go back to where I fight the Shield Dragon since the game won't end after the final battle.

Cheers. I'll let you know if any of them work!

Edit: Oh yeah, the reflect. -.- No to Slow then, just the Power Rod to try!

You'll need to reflect the berserk off your party member instead. At least you don't have to worry about M. Evade since Berserk is considered a buff.

I'm also currently doing a fiesta run and plan to try to get the bestiary. I made sure to kill the world 1 super enemies as Freelancer before getting my first rolled job. The other ones that my team has issues with, I'll drop the fiesta rules after beating the game then achievement hunt with an unrestricted party on that file.

I should be able to handle the other enemies once I actually get later jobs.

But right now it's horrible. Bard, Dancer, Chemist , Geomancer. Since Geomancer is my earth roll, I can't actually use it yet since I haven't actually gotten to earth crystal yet. I'm up to the boss before the crystal, but four level 25 bards, with 15 Elixirs just isn't going to work out. I need more levels for more HP and damage, more Elixir drops, possibly more money so I can get 4 Flame Rings, so I can absorb Blaze and nullify Frost.

Ah, I never thought of that! Thank you, I'll try that when I go back to it.

There's only one that I missed earlier in the game (Ghidra). I know it appears in the interdimensional rift and I'm hoping it still counts the same for my bestiary.

I found battling Wild Nakks near Karnark to be a good way to farm gil early on.

It would still count since it's the same enemy and stats. I just used a Phoenix Down on Ghidra because it's undead and not heavy flagged. It even drops a phoenix down guaranteed, so unless you're unlucky enough for it to miss, you don't lose anything.

Berserk worked! Finally got the damn thing in my bestiary! Cheers.

And that's good, I wasn't sure if was gonna be like the phoenix tower door guards where they don't count for your bestiary.

Congratulations!

The baffling thing about FFVI similarly lacking some enemies in the bestiary is that it's still required to find them to get all of Gau's rages.
