Need help with NeoExdeath!

Hi guys,

Can anyone recall which part of NE casts Grand Cross? Is it the absolute front? Any other tips would be appreciated on the fight.

Top: Grand Cross
Middle: Almagest
Back: does delta attack
front: physical attacks

Once 3 parts are dead, he'll use meteor every turn.


General advice:
Equip all the ribbons you have found
Save the front portion for later, it has low hp and can be countered by golem
!Mix is great, especially the increase lvl and double hp recipies.

But will ribbons protect against zombie which Grand Cross causes? I thought to take out the top most part as it casts Grand Cross... Also, by top do you mean the creature with horns?

Nah ribbon wont stop zombie. You could equip angel ring or angel robe I guess, but personally I prefer ribbons since it deals with everything else he uses and has great stats.

Keep in mind you can cure zombie with holy water.

Thanks for getting back to my post Squall! However, I can happily declare now that I have beaten NE and am focussing on the superbosses!

Use dragon lances. Time !jump with the final attack or wear coral rings or you'll wipe you'll game over.

Oh yes, that's what the FF Wiki says - to use dragon lances... it's a rare steal off the Crystal Dragon right?

I'm not sure what you mean by final attack? Which are his final attacks?

Do you have any party suggestions?

Yes dual Dragon Lance + Jump is the easiest way and probably the fastest. Here is my video at levels around 47:

Except for Dragon Lance it require only Hermes Sandals. My team dont wear anything else, because they must Jump before Shinryu can act. As probably you may know, your speed depend on your weight (and speed factors like Haste/Slow). For the video I had only 7 lances so I had to do like 8k per hit. If you have 8 you need only 7k per hit, so I guess it can be done at levels 30+

Oh wow! Too easy! Job well done though! How long did it take you to get all those lances? Were they a rare drop off Crystal Dragon?

It's a rare steal against the crystal dragons in the end of the void. My favorite way to steal in encounters like this is the following setup.

1. Equip a character with theive's gloves & masamune (the katana that makes you start battle with a full ATB bar, (active !steal) Requires giving a theif "equip katana" or a freelancer with !steal

2. Equip another character with hermes sandals and give him/her a job with good speed (active !time)

Equip your other two classes with whatever weaponry and armor you have that's the most efficient (they're going to be your cleanup when you have successfully stolen a lance).

have character 1 use steal. If unsuccessful, have your character 2 reset the battle. Rince and repeat.

BTW: I killed shinryuu without lances. For neo-shinryuu I had 5 lances and 1 dragon whisker.
