Easier ways to farm Neo Exdeath?

I'm trying to farm the final battle to outfit my team with dual-wielded Ragnaroks before I head into the post-game dungeon.

1. Is there a way to increase the steal rate? As far as Google is telling me, level, or agility, or anything like that does not affect steal rates. So my thief glove and thief knife together are as good as it gets, right? There's only the one thief knife in the game, so I can't dual-wield them to increase my chances further, right?

2. Is there a way to skip the ending? It's cool the first time, when you care about the story, but it gets tedious real fast, and I've got four Ragnaroks to go still...

Thief knife has no impact on your stealing successrate, actually if reduces your chances since the mug proc is only 50%. The best possible setup for stealing imho is equpping thief gloves and hermes sandals on a freelancer (assuming you've mastered the key jobs).

As for ragnarok. While it is certainly a powerful option for the endgame dungeon, there are better options with less terious ways of farming them so I wouldn't go out of my way of farming them. Dragon lance, dragon whisker, chicken knife/brave blade, man-eater, mutsunokami are all great for endgame.

and for your questions.

1. Yes there is only 1 thief knife in the game, and it has no impact on your actually steal rate, so don't bother with it.

2. Afaik no.

Thief Knife has 50% chance to proc Mug, wich is attack+steal. However it doesnt affect steal rate. The only item that affect it is Thief Gloves, which doubles the chance of stealing. After initial check your chance to steal the Ragnarock is still low ~4%. The game design is a such that even if you have 2 gloves, chance will be the same.

You dont need team with dual Ragnarocks to beat GBA+ content, but certanly that will be advantage.

P.S. How do you farm Neo-Ex? I never wen back there after I defeated him.

The main reason I'm farming 7 Ragnaroks is just to say I did. 7 Ragnaroks and a Brave Blade. That's awesome. As for why the Ragnarok, it's the best farmable sword. Brave Blade can only be gotten once, Dragon Lances can't use Spellblade.

If you go back into the Rift after beating the game, the final battle (and the entire ending sequence...) can happen again, basically, they just never programmed anything else to happen in that final room, so the final battle's still there. So I just keep fighting it over and over and stealing a Ragnarok every time.

I didn't realize the Thief Knife had no effect on stealing rates I thought it was a watered-down Thief Glove in addition to randomly mugging when you attack (I never actually attacked with it, I just used the "steal" command while it and the thief glove were equipped.). I must have read an ill-informed wiki or something. I'll swap that out for something better.

I dont know what are your sources but when it come to FFV I will recomend only 2:

The first is how FFV (SNES) works from inside. The second, while it is walktrough, Djibriel has deep knowledge on the game mechanics and is the best thing for FFVa. They both have few mistakes, but in general its 99.9% accurate.

Anyway thank you very much about the info on Ragnarock farming. Thats why I love FF - regardless how much you know, there is always something new that you may learn
