Connected Inventory Master List and Sorting
Two in one really, I think both would be great QoL changes:

1) Connected inventory master list: Currently any time we select an inventory, the connected inventories are displayed in a seemingly random order (I'm sure theres a reasoning), and we have to manually drag them where we want them. Having a list of all connected inventories where we could set the order they should be dispayed no matter which inventory you access them from would be awesome.

Alterntatively, just have the game remember how you sorted them and try to replicate that from any new inventory you open, putting new connections at the bottom and removing missing connections, etc.

2) Accepted materials lists for inventories. This is pretty self-explanatory, just have a master list of all possible materials that can be placed in the item you're accessing and be able to turn on and off whether or not that item is accepted there. Aka, I have 3 stockpiles, but want all of my bricks being crafted to go into one in particular, you're able to turn off bricks from being added to the other stockpiles. (I know this is somewhat possible using connection toggles, but that would turn off the ability to say put mortared stone in a separate stockpile since you'd be turning off those for the masonry table completely)

While I'm at it, woudln't it be great to have an "auto-pull fuel" option for items requiring fuel? =D

Thanks for listening!

start with disabling auto linking, that would solve 99% of the issues most are having, but maybe when you advance to computers you could get a inventory station, that would make sense tech tree wise. Maybe Smart stockpiles :P

That would actually make sense to tie sorting into the tech tree somehow. =]

To expand on that, having conveyor belts and the like would be a great way to do mechanical sorting, allow for actual quarrys, creation of production lines, etc. though the current connected inventory system may need to be scrapped or heavily modified to force the player into using them. Then progress to digital sorting with computers, robots, or some other system with the ability to connect all inventories via piping or cabling regardless of proximity.
