Steam Shovel

It's easy to understate the importance of Steam Shovels in times of Smaller Diesel Excavators but we would't have most of the railways in The U.S. and U.K. in the 19th and early 20th century as well as the Panama Canal, one of the largest engineering projects of the modern age.

I think something like this would fit well into the game

better and faster than hand, but holds less than and maybe moves slower than the excavator but comes with steam tech like the truck and tractor

I've always loved steam powered things and in Eco they can be renewable with wood or charcoal as fuel as long as your smart and plant more trees than you cut down

Good news in 9.0 higher tear and/or skills tools will get aoe use, s a modern shovel will dig more than one block maybe. Some time after 9.0 blast mining will be a thing. Time to make some anfo/TNT, drill some rock, and blast it to peaces, would make more sence if the excavator/skidstear and "hopefully" steam shovel would not be able to dig solid rock but only crush rock. Meaning like real life you would drill and set explosives, blast it and then use heavy equipment to collect it to put in trucks to take to a refinery
