"Start a Garden" tutorial broken?

I hate skipping tutorials. I got the "start a garden" tutorial to the "Use the hoe to till at least 9 spaces of dirt around your house" step but despite tilling a couple dozen squares around my house, more than 9 inside, and more than 9 outside my homestead territory, it still refuses to check the box. I see no way of restarting these tutorials and I'm unsure I'll miss something important by skipping.

Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: After leaving and returning to the server, I dug up the tilled blocks and put them back and tilled them again and the tutorial worked, so yeah, I hit some kinda bug. I'll leave this post here in case anyone else hits it.

Howdy there, 8th march 2025, same bug. Have try your solution, but did not work at the moment. I'll try again this morning ... time to go to bed now in real life !

Edited : Came back in game after the night irl, I tilled required dirt ... tutorial did not work, so I did what DaveKap said, therefore dug up the tilled blocks and put the dirt back... tilled again and this time it worked.

Bug in same quest but the last step where it says "Select the seeds in your toolbar and target the tilled ground to plant at least 9 seeds"

I've planted 50 seeds every which way and it won't register to complete the quest.

I encountered this bug with seed planting. Not all seeds I planted counted for the quest

overall I dislike the introductory quest and I think it does no good at teaching players how to play the game. After completing the quest I still had to have a GREAT FANTASTIC ARGUMENT with my friend to stop him from building his house wrong, out of the wrong materials, and putting furniture wherever he felt it looked good. I had to very seriously argue with him.

Nothing about the tutorial impressed upon him that he should build a house to get more skill points. He also is eating wrong - he does not understand and no amount of explaining will convince him that eating higher tier food is better than eating lower tier food. The tutorial has convinced him that having balanced food groups (protein, vitamins, fat, carbs) is what matters and he will happily chow down on boiled grains and charred meat while totally ignoring campfire roast and charred sausage.

I was the only player on my entire server with a housing bonus over 100 points in the last wipe I played

overall I have to say the tutorial is accomplishing exactly none of its goals and players who complete the tutorial KNOW LESS ABOUT THE GAME THAN PLAYERS WHO DID NOT COMPLETE THE TUTORIAL. IT TEACHES YOU INCORRECTLY
