where do I find copper ore?

I did a search in the guides and discussions here for copper, and also ore, not a single hit.

Anyone know where to find copper ore?

You'll likely find it in cold biomes.

I found my copper in the Boreal biome, burried in loads of granite.

It is a deep red ore but it doesn't seem that abundant, though I currently only play on a single player small world so it might be because of the size.

Hi , i have the same prob with cooper. How deep do i have to dig for cooper?

For copper your best bet is Boreal Forest, 20 - 30 blocks below surface. (Surface is the highest natural block, not sea level)
