My friend keeps getting kicked from servers when I'm on/join???
Super confused right now. He and I met in this very game, we've played together on several servers before this latest patch.

The message my friend is getting is "Error happened during processing incoming message). I haven't sent him a message, I have no message tab open with him at all.

Here's when it happens:
~When I log into the server (official or unofficial)
~When he logs into the server when I'm already on that server (official or unofficial)
~When he mouses over my name in a game server (official or unofficial)

When it doesn't happen:
~When he's playing with anyone else (official or unofficial)
~When he logs into the server alone (official or unofficial)
~When he mouses over anyone else's name (official or unofficial)
~To me when I mouse over his name, buy from his shop, give him reputation
~To anyone else who's on a server with me (to the best of my knowledge)

When I first logged into the server we're trying to play on last night my game kept crashing, he was unaffected. I restarted my computer, by the time it was back up he was already offline, and I had no problems playing afterwards.

Edit/update: We just tried to log into a 7 Days to Die server together (thinking maybe the issue is on the Steam side) and were able to log in together on multiple servers, ally, party together, and even fight with each other. So probably not a Steam issue.

Edit/update #2: We also tried unfriending each other, didn't work. We also got a mutual friend to hop on the server and see if he, myself, or the friend who keeps getting server kicked got kicked by being online together. Effect didn't occur in any new pairings. Original friend is still being kicked only when sharing a server with me.

It'd be swell to get some feedback, given how much I gave you lot in Alpha.

So never got help from SLG, not here, nor on Discord. Saw lots of devs active and answering the questions of others, zero response here.

So here's how you fix the issue if you have it and the devs aren't answering you either:

:winter2019neutralyul:Whomever is getting kicked, have them clear their cache. :winter2019neutralyul:

Gotta say, it feels wonderful after all the recommendations I've given this game, after how many I've bought this game for, after all the testing in the various stages of alpha & beta, after all the testing and updates I did for this problem, to get zero responses other than my own to this. Future recommendations will definitely be affected.

I'm sorry - the team was seemingly wrongly assuming you were the person that reached out for something that sounded exactly like this via support mail and that we had requested additional information from there and also intended to handle it directly there, as having overhead on multiple channels slows everything down and is confusing. It seems that was not the case and not noticing that is our fault I can only apologize for. Unfortunately the issue was not reproducible and was still under investigation for potental cause, but the user reaching out via support told us that deleting their game folder under AppData had fixed it before we were able to do more investigation. That is a sign of a simple corruption, so we have thanked the user for getting back to us and closed the linked Github issue, given we assumed there is no other reports and due to no reproducibility also no general error. We also couldn't have continued investigation without the issue being present anymore.

Please note that the best course of action is always to reach out to support@strangeloopgames.com, as that is the only place we centrally provide user support. We try to catch as much as possible on all other channels, but that is limited to what resource availability we have at any given time. It also still does require a bit of patience for issues that aren't simple to diagnose and handle (as this is), as we will need to schedule investigations into our normal limited development resources. Unfortunately not every issue can be solved within just a few days.
