Driving into the void
Seems bad I got a gaming computer, (costly), to run my games on. Then when driving a truck in the game I have to stop often to let the landscape ahead build. Otherwise I drive\fall into the void and who knows where or how you'll end up. If you're on a bridge going over water? Eco support said there was nothing that could be done about this? THEN WHY GIVE US TRUCKS THAT RUN FAST??? I could just use a wood cart and go slower. Why? I've tried everything and no luck. Only Eco with this issue? No other games seem to have this issue...

Anyone else have this issue and are upset they don't fix this?

The loading times depend heavily on server and client performance, which is why I can drive fully fine with the trucks typically, aside of White Tiger - the limit is at a different point for every player, so balancing the truck around this is not viable.

It's also not an issue we can easily 'fix', but something that is resulting from general performance implications that are different for each player and hence a continuous effort, like some of the recent performance updates address.

There's definitely a client-side aspect to this. I recently upgraded away from 8 year old hardwar and can now drive my truck anywhere I like. OP, if you have a pretty recent computer you ought to be fine.

What's annoying about this in particular is that in older versions of Eco (9.4 I think) this wasn't even an issue. Even if the road hadn't loaded yet, you could still drive over it, navigating by using the minimap, without falling trough the world. So while it might not be easy to fix, maybe Eco can be brought back to a state when it wasn't a big problem..

Yeah..... New computer. Not even a year old. MADE for high end gaming... Private game on the computer does THE SAME THING. This is a problem that goes way back and I've seen this on multiple PC's. Their answer: Nothing we can do.

That's not an answer to me... Oh well. I guess I'll figure out how to mod the wood cart and my walking speed to avoid the issue for now. Does not even do it when using admin and flying, so...

Any update on this issue? Dennis ??? This seemed to go away just before the latest version but now it's back... Even with running shoes on I'm having to wait for the landscape to build before I continue on across the land. Does not seem to be happening when using boats though (that's good). Does anyone know if it has to do with world size? I run the largest size world I it will generate. (I like having a HUGE world to explore in this game.)

Yes, world size does impact that issue notably.
Note that we don't support any sizes over 2.56 km².
For singleplayer only the default size is supported.

Got it.... Can't afford one of those Alienware laptops. Wish I could. :-)

I just thought something...... I like using the truck but I need it to go slower. Capacity over speed is my point. Not worried about going fast. Is there a way to slow them down so they don't go so fast even on the paved roads?

Not anything currently in the game at least.

Thanks. Would be nice to control the transport speeds. Give us more time in the game.
