You need to create an account at https://play.eco. If you already own the game, click on "Login with Steam" and it will directly allow you to create an account that owns the game. You can then use that to login with your server.

a) The server uses the SLG account, the client uses the steam account.
b) The same user (steam ID) can't log in to the same server
I think right now there is a problem where the server does not "forget" a logged out client, so the client can not log in again. A server restart should help.

You then need to let the provider know to do that, we don't know everyone that hosts Eco and what systems they use to do so, the requirement was noted in the release notes.

You can have an unlimited amount of servers registered to an account which can also be the same one you play with. What is the problem you get, the screenshot does only show a login screen?

The account you want to login with into the server needs to own Eco, the account you provided does not. If you own Eco on Steam you can create an account that does own Eco by clicking the "Login with Steam" button here: https://play.eco/login

It will then prompt you to enter a username, e-mail and password. Make sure to not use the details of the already existing account that does not own Eco. Merging and linking existing accounts will be available soon.

tbpf the Steam restriction is the one placing "One Steam Token per ID"; you can have the Eco Server logged into the SLG Account and still play through steam, are you sure your connecting to the right IP address? If it's hosted on the same machine then it's easy to remember: 127.0.0.1; but if it's a seperate machine on the network then you have to do a little network sleuthing to find out the machines "local ip".

As Denis Said, you need a SLG Account for the Server (which if you own Eco (the game) on Steam you can "link" your steam account to the Eco Website when you "create" an account with SLG. This account you create is NOT your steam account, and is not subject to the same restrictions, it is an account with SLG Themselves, and you need to input the Username and Password from the website into the server, while connecting through steam with the client.

Also if you already own Eco on Steam, you don't need to buy it again from SLG to host the server, you can provide proof of purchase for Eco to SLG by "Linking" your SLG Account to your "Steam Account" through the SLG Website.


Also just a tip: Steam does NOT limit Eco Server to running through steam, you can run it from the Directory Executable and completely bypass any need for a "Steam Login" - this will NOT prevent you from needing a SLG Login for the server.
