Doesn't reducing the collaboration setting increase stars?
ehhhh yes and no. we had it set to the one above lone wolf. and to get to level 7 with a 40x boost was still 2-3 days of gameplay. mind you we played local host so it was literal gameplay lol
that seems to be the norm and I understand why.
This server I play on has existed for 8 months
been the same for all 8 months
after day like 14 and the advanced stuff comes out.
people end up leavin
i agree. it's like the game is built as an MMORPG, but it isn't executed to behave like one. you can't make it too grindy since there isn't anything to do, but if it is too easy then you reach end goal and it gets boring anyways
It's also hard for people to value other people's work, so value is usualy product based instead of work.
Contracts are also kinda under developed which makes it hard for you to complete the contract.
Also, people start towns and fail to properly develop laws and system to improve the town's economy.
And when people succeed to develop the town's economy it's more than half the fight to destroy the asteroid and after that what else is there to do?
The first and last server I played the asteroid got destroyed in 2 weeks.
First one I believe 1 guy with several friends flooded the market with a log based economy and that guy's credits was worth 1 log, but everyone was using his credit and since everyone was using his credit it ended up with his credit being over 10 million in circulation.
The other server was basically a communist utopia where everyone was following the town's leader with other side towns and outside of the start where a couple of people tried to use credits and shops it just ended up with a couple of people doing all the jobs.
One thing I learned from that one server is that Farmer is one of the worst jobs because it starts as a 2 man job since you need 1 specialty to harvest and another to plant while hunter or Logger would be using their second star for the next progression.
If I had more time I'd seriously look into it. But the trick you still be keeping the population up.
The past 3 I've been on, two have had a fantastic server owner with a small core group of friendly players. But both have ended up with massive depopulation.
I'm currently playing on MVNCUBED³ - Oceans & Islands Server Status, Day and still pretty active
