Whats with the piss poor performance?
First off my specs cuz somebody will ask...
i7 7700k, 16gb ddr4, 1080ti oc, game is on a wd black

Started the game, selected new world in solo. In the loading screen the game asked for shell console access, dafuq? Why does a game need to do this? Of course a said hell no.
Then the game crashed wallpaper engine and geforge experience, so no fps monitor....
But from what I can tell it was somewhere in the single digits.
Meanwhile, Task Manager said through the performance monitor that the cpu was not used at all the ram was around 9gb and harddrive was also not used all. The graphics card on the other hand was at 100%. In the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ load screen!!!!!

And just the be safe, it tested it with SotTR and it was just as you expect, high cpu and harddrive usage and no gpu usage during load screens.

Can't say anything about gameplay, was stuck inside the load screen/character creation. With 1 FPS. Had to force close the game and even after it was closed it made problems, so I threw it out.

And now some tips a normal person does BEFORE they release their ♥♥♥♥.
QA and QA alot (use the beta branch)
If it isn't stable and runs like butter, DON'T release it. (NO crash, NO error messages)

Sry for the rant, but I am PISSED, to see another ♥♥♥♥ hole that is "We release our beta as the main release without testing" crap.

Just tested. Getting 113-120 FPS in menus. 80-95 on very high graphics settings in game.

System: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x, 32gb DDR4 3200, M 2.2 drive, Nvidia 2080RTX.

You may want to try the game giving it the access it want's and needs.

I highly doupt that access to the ports 3300 and 3600 are nessessary for a single player game.
Those ports are used for multiplayer only.

The Shell access. The game is multi player at all times. It works by creating a game server on the system then you connect to it. You as the host do not need those ports. You just have the ability to not let people in if you wish, by selecting the options. Any other problem with performance is likely something on your systems end. Drivers or system files out of date.

I get your frustration, but the performance has been buttersmooth for us in QA, hence we released it. It still is for me, being way above a stable 60 at any time. I could get if you drop below, but 1 FPS? That sounds like issues on your system, as well as the crashes. I got a multitude of stuff running with Eco at the same time, nothing is crashing there.

But please, attach some logs:

I have great FPS... until it's not great. If you keep the client open for too long, performance degrades and frames start skipping.

There's definitely an issue somewhere, but it builds over time. When the game first starts, I also have great performance.

They're not the only one. It's very bad compared to before. The performance was brought up A LOT lately since the new patch. It's went south for a lot of users. It's like the game isn't using cores right and if you're @ 16gb ram, it has a leak and uses a bit more than it should over time.

Ok, did that, should now be visible in the issues tab. "The 1 FPS problem".

Clear memory leak and the app tends to mis-use threads over time. Priority is messed up.

:steamfacepalm: I found the culprit, it was Steam, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up to update properly.

I don't know if that's "normal", but the GPU usage, which stays at 99% normally, goes down whenever I move (new elements load). The more my FOV is set high, the more the GPU usage drops when I move. (GPU usage in % on the task manager).

Edit: It's not only when I move. 1)the more fov the more gpu usage goes down 2)when I move, gpu usage goes even lower. Isn't it contradictory that the gpu is less used when there is more work to be done?

Kinda off. I didn't really watch the usage any. But, I have noticed issues with that.

What does help oddly enough, Open the map and render the world a bit, All around.

But, To be where it wont utilize a GPU properly, That's a huge no!

@DEV if you read this..

Just how many PC's do you test this on before release? Just because it's good on one, Doesn't mean its a solid release. Utilization will be different on all sorts of builds in spec or higher, Good or bad both on those.

Whats up?

Deleted the game and reinstalled it, now it's working as it should.
