You dont really see irl engineers farming carrots when they arent engineering
This game isnt really a Solo game, you really arent supposed to play singleplayer
this is not true at all! People in this game are super friendly and helpfull in general. I really advice you to check out a random public server and see how the game plays when you are collaborating.
Myself..I have people I COULD play with... but non are interested in this game.
Now I dont get to fully get the experience because im forced to HAVE TO play with others.
All things aside... I commend the great deal of detail the devs have gone too..
I love survival games and micro management games.. This is the best of all... its just a shame it cant efficiently be done solo.
Yeah.. if I truly want to experience this game at its fullest.. you are right.... I need to find a server to play on.
I started playing this game without having any of my friends playing it, but i made a bunch of new friends along the way :)
Appreciate the information!!!!
Also: I see lots of collaboration (which does include competition in captialistic society systems, though) on the official servers. More so on Tiger of course, but that's pretty much what its for.
try these settings on the "Host a world" section:
Speciality Cost Multiplier 0.1
Skill Gain Multipler 10
Speciality Experience Per Level 50
Craft Resource Multiplier 0.1
Craft Time Multiplier 0.1
Player Experience Per Speciality 1
Im using these in my sp play through and I haven't found it particularly grindy.. busy with lots to do... but not waiting on timers or level progress.
I think the "Player Experience Per Speciality" just automatically gives you all the stars. I seemed to be at level 30 after my first level up. This is good though as in SP you are going to need just about every profession asap.
Try it out, after an hour or so of logging and digging you will have tons of material to build structures for all the crafting stations you will have unlocked.
I dont want it to be too instant or easy but I will most definitely be modifying the values as its just too grindy and time consuming.
Just need a better NON CHEAT way to teraform.. its the only thing really zapping the fun for me and its needed A LOT
Friend that was playing with me.. lasted 1 day and hasn't been back lol
Feeling excited again!!!!!!!
I prefer to call it "Creative Mode" :D
But yea, i tweaked them too extreme, I agree not much challenge but good way to quickly see how the professions fit together.
Point is, there is a sweet spot in there for everybody, just got to experiment a bit to find it.
I just saw your comments, come join our server, I feel into the same hole you did before I realized it and decided to make a community for ours. All new players are always welcome and veteran players alike. We are only on day 2 and have a nice balance of pulling your own weight plus community to help with other things.
Our server name is: [US East] New Earth: New Horizon
