Yes, I read through this post, but GeForce Now has needed a few updates so that you no longer need Steamcloud because all data is stored on their server

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like this is the case, as of the official Steam documentation Steam Cloud or one's own online service for storing data is still required: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/cloudgaming?l=english

We would reconsider support for the future once that requirement has changed or Steam Cloud is able to deal with games without traditional savegames like ours.
