FPS tweak/fix (8.3.3)
Hey guys! So I have been addicted to Eco for quite a while, but I hated the Frame Rate issue the game holds. I've looked everywhere for a fix and I couldn't find anything so then I started digging into steams launch parameter settings.

(!!!WARNING!!!, Please note SLG-Dennis's comment before trying)

I've found that the launch parameter (-fullscreen) helps...

If you are unfamiliar with setting launch settings for specific games through steam, i'm here to walk you through it...

Step 1: Go to Library
Step 2: Find Eco and right click the game...
Step 3: Click "Properties"
Step 4: Under the general tab there is a button labeled "Set Launch Options"
Step 5: type -fullscreen

The current version of the game does not have a "fullscreen" option in the ingame graphic settings. This doubled my fps from 20-30 to 60-70 throughout my entire Eco sitting.

This is my first discussion post I've ever made, If at all helpful please leave some feedback!

If you know a trick I didn't mention feel free to comment it and ill check it out!

Enjoy saving the world with quality FPS gameplay!

Do this on your own risk. Fullscreen was disabled for the last version as there is a Unity bug that can cause Eco to be in a crashloop with Fullscreen mode on specific PC configurations - the only fix is reinstalling. (Or fiddling in the registry)

Since it's a reasonably small game (file size wise so I didn't care if I had to reinstall it) I gave it a shot but it didn't do anything for my game, I'm still getting between 55 and 60 fps even with vsync turned off.

wow if i only had permanent 30 fps i would be happy.

as longer i play the game in one turn as less fps i get.

starting the game with 60 fps after some minutes playing it with 12 to 19 fps... it makes no fun to play with this fps.

I agree, I could not play this with 12 to 19 fps.

Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly happy with 55 to 60 fps in pretty much any game that I can get that in.
I currently am running:
Window 10
System type: x64 Processor
CPU: i7-4790 @ 3.60GHz
GPU: GTX 960 Nvidia Geforce
RAM: 16GB
HDD: 2TB (dont remember the name)
SDD: 1TB (dont remember the name)

Is this still relevant. I am getting massive random FPS drops. i have an i9 10 core CPU, 32gb ram, RTX 3080 10GB, 3500mb/s SSD. I haven't played since 2020 and it sucks that this issue is still here. Looking at my system performance, nothing is maxed out to indicate it would be losing fps.
here is a suggestion for Nvidia graphics cards (works for some, may not work for you):

disable vsync in eco
enable fast or adaptive vsync for Eco in Nvidia 3d settings
cap frame rate in-game (not sure if there's an option) or in Nvidia settings to 10% more than your monitor's refresh rate (i.e. 66 for a 60hz display)

this will give the game a vsync buffer that will allow it to handle frame rate jitter from blocking operations
