Rotten plants
Hi everyone. I have one question:

Rotten plants - if they are rotten, will these disappear?

I got large fields with rotten tomatoes and some fresh, wild one. But there growing nothing new and the rotten are never disappaer.

Thank you.

i learnt this last night from someone, the game uses a stupid overcrowd feature on plants, and so basic it means that the planet kills itself eventually... they dont disappear

when plants have no more room to grow/expand, they die because of overcrowding, the player has to dig up and monitor the dead plants and the distance between each other, but on the global level, ie the entire planet to prevent it from happening.

which of course is impractical - its pretty much wait for a update/fix tbh

afaik overcrowded does not work properly right now... look at the tree spacing thread.

i play solo so its much easier to manage space i guess, but i just planted beets 4x6 no spacing, everyone shows overcrowded and i lose 3-4 of them every planting-cycle... i can live with 20 out of 24 (especially if you skill gatherer for the appropriate plant). much more crucial are the soil properties imo > use a soil sampler which you can craft at the farmer table.

[edit] and ye you have to remove them with a shovel for anything new to spawn/plant there[/edit]

I think trees info in the Soil sampler may be bugged. I noticed this morning that almost all trees i planted in the forest where shown as dead, so i tweaked the configs further (reduced space needs) and temporary set their growtime to 30mins to test it. But somehow all the trees that where shown as dead before grew to max size (and are still shown as dead)

they are still having some issues with things dying off quickly, it's one of the things they've been trying to get fixed recently.

You don't necessarily have to monitor the entire planet yourself. Just keep an area where you plan to grow things clear. As long as someone has seeds, you can clear out a spot and regrow any plant you need.

Any plant YOU need yes, but not every plant there is naturally
