struggling to find a server

I am really struggling to find a server to join. I tried looking at a day 3 server and everyone already had tier 3 homes and motor cars.
seems like almost all of them area heavily modded too. any one have any tips?

Unless there is a Freshly started server you are out of luck. Most servers start their cycle at the start of the month and reset at the end.

Just find a server and stick with it, the people with the motor cars are the ones who grind the game all day - the vast majority of the players will still only carts because tractors / cars are expensive af.

The 90 player server I am on only has 5 people with cars on day 6, I settled far away from them and set up a shop nearby to haul my garbage.

P.S unless you are on a small server, most communities will destroy the asteroid while preventing people from making stupid decisions through laws ( I wish I could see new towers of Garbage and Tailings before they passes a law physically forbidding you from placing them down )

you can join mine, no one is doing anything to help each other, stores have stuff but wont buy anything, the cook won't cook different foods

I tend to be a lumberjack and basic engineer to make roads and logs for sale I like the small country life

todays batch of day one servers all have starting government and money or are like 2/2 players which is like... whats the point.

YES 100% every server i join has mods that make everything pointless cant sell carts cus everyone can cary 200 logs and no one needs roads.

You could always join us on Dad Speed. We're on day 200 or 201 now. Still have holes in the economy. Though I'd recommend looking over the server rules to see if it's the kind of experience you want.

The official servers do not have mods that change the game, with exception of White-Tiger, which still does not have any download-requiring mods and no easy-, but only hardmode mods. (Their effect just being detrimental to the whole economy game, as has been mentioned here, hence doing the opposite, to make exactly that more interesting)

For next cycle we for the first time bring depletable oil to the table :)

Resets of servers typically happen on fridays throughout the month, that is also the case for official servers.

look you still can get into midgame and start to mess around with lawmachine or speculate on market on highcollab vanila servers - they need you there not for building your own industry (that is impossable for newcommer without high help and investment)
but in my opinion people miss a huge point of this game - it is not just about a meteorite to destroy (it is relatively easy task...mandatory, grindy, boring task i would say) it is not very fun (to no fun at all) but about socialization, communication, civilization via all tools provided
you do not need to grind yourself, try something diffirent, think out of box, ok people is on its way to take down meteorite, that is fine, but what your role in this? providing them with sand, dirt, wood etc.? no way for me! i'm here not just to grind for them! get mad! start to ruin their perfect green sandbox life and call it fair! why? cause they are not alone in this world! if they do not wish to build a society - society shall make them pay for that! build your own goverment! overthrow their laws!

and if it is illegal on their server - their server sucks! cause they just cuted main point of all of this...people are not slaves! this game is not for them alone to play and win on only their terms! it is a warzone for deputies, lawmakers, speculators, orators and just trolls! =)
cause if it is not - there is no point to even turn it on again!

PS btw (again in my opinion) there should be rework in skillbooks and plot pages - i would say that skillbook should not give pages without paper production and plot pages should be less provided from skills but also made in goverment...you need to force people to use goverment somehow by default...otherwise people miss a point and think it is just optional and only for a "roleplay" and again in my opinion is very big missconception

Its hard to find server and people with the mind of its not stealing if you just capitalize on other mistake
