Whats the secret to water pumps?
Tried to set up a combustion generator and it wants 0.27 water. Set up a pump and it's only moving 0.1 water. Added a second pump and the generator was still only receiving 0.1 water.

Water pumps use mechanical power do they not?

Do you have enough power for it?

Use 75, both the windmill and water wheel provide 200. 1 should be enogh for 2 pumps

Pumps just give little water, be nice to have an advance pump using electricity to move more water or something.

Honestly the power system needs more love with wind maps for best wind mills, solar maps for solars, and reworked water mills so they next for water blocks with a degree of error for max efficiency along with checking if site has running water. And... bigger late game power generation with ability to wire people to that main power and sell them power.

Still though, my pump was providing better throughput to my blast furnace, I think it was at .3. Once I installed the waste filter, however, I needed a couple more pumps to make the system work. So yeah, not sure what's choking the throughput. Is there any throughput at all or is that .1 just a default number? I can't remember what it looks like by memory, and can't currently check.

I agree about power, it needs some work. I'm also not sure why we need water for a combustion generator either, or a sewage outlet. Maybe I'm ignorant on the subject, but I've never seen either aspects on such a generator.

Water is need for the combustion engine as a coolant, the engine moves pistons by the combustion of gasoline producing lots of pressure... This combustion of gas though produces lots of heat and gears moving produce heat so you use a coolant to cool these parts down.

With pumps... bug the people on discord might even get a dev response otherwise they have to remember we exist>.>

So then, by that logic, everything in this game that requires a combustion engine will require a constant source of water to cool it? I get what a combustion engine is, my point was that you won't find too many that use pumped water as a coolant and it's inconsistent with the use of the combustion engine (the primary component of the generator) elsewhere in the game.

I just checked what my pump is providing my blast furnace when not piped to my waste filter and it's getting .3. When it's piped to my waste filter I get .1, but adding 2 more pumps brought it back to .3.

According to the discord, there needs to be 2 water blocks under the pipe for the pump to work. havent had a chance to test yet though.

Input pipe just has to have the 'hole' open to a water block and you are golden.
