Still a Torus?
Just curious, not really fussed one way or another, but are the planets still toruses, or did they figure out how to make them spheres?

Yes, they are toruses. (And we never had plans to change that either)

The planets are spheres, no ? When you open the mini map, it's a sphere...

I don't understant this post... :D

The map is a lie. Dig a line all the way around the world in one direction. Then go a few blocks perpendicular to that line and dig another one. If you're on a sphere, those lines should cross. On a torus, they won't.

Exactly, it's just the development implementation of it, as the implementation of a real sphere comes with many difficulties that simply are not worth it and would be detrimental to gameplay.

Oh yeah, I have no idea how you'd even start to solve that in a voxel game, I was 100% just curious. Game's a good'n either way. Looking forward to boats. BOAT HYYYPE!!!

I was just reminded of this question page and thought I would share, maybe someone somewhere here might get a kick out of it:

https://math.stackexchange.com/questions/854380/how-to-distinguish-between-walking-on-a-sphere-and-walking-on-a-torus

I especially like the answer from one "Tom Collinge".

Sphere Earth is a lie. Torus Terra is the reality! Just...not the crazy Flat-Earther Torus. that would have absurdly low gravity on the inside of it.
