Disable christmas items

Is there a way to stop being forced to view this? If you must ask, I lost my wife and the holidays are bad for me. So it would be nice if I did not have to be forced a reminder of the season that brings me pain, other then "lul don't play"

I don't think there is a way to disable them, but I imagine the next patch will revert them to their non-holiday equivalent.

edit: Go to the game's properties in steam, go to the beta tab and select the beta list dropdown. You might be able to use a pre-holiday version. This should work fine if you play single player, but won't work if you play on servers.

I'm sorry for your loss. Unfortunatlely we do not have a time-based event system in place yet, hence the holiday decoration will be gone with Update 9.2 to be released in January. For future events we'll be having a time based change that does not require an update and I'll bring up a possibility to disable holiday themes client-side, though this might not be entirely possible.

I know, but as we want to have event-based items instead of just skins that probably won't be possible.
