Brown Water
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2358587235

so i assume the brown is because of pollution. but is there a way to get rid of it and return it to blue? we have a waste filter which is now working, but we think the water is still turning more brown

No, water once polluted cannot be restored.

Well, that's exactly what you did :)

"_" should create something like a water purifier or something that can clean the water and return it to normal
Purified water is kind of a misnomer. Water that comes out of the Water Filters is still unusable. It's just way less harmful to the environment. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why when I ran water from the filter into my clean water system the whole line would shut down. Workstations cannot use water from the Filters. I always wind up pumping it deep underground.

Like Dennis said, it cannot be 'completely' restored; Just made less destructive.

that should be mentioned in the description of the item. a bit misleading if you ask me
Yeah, I agree. The description just says "treats raw sewage', and the output for it is also kind of misleading. And it took a lot of googling to get close to an answer I found on reddit. I think an assumption was made that players wouldn't assume the water became potable, but we all first assumed it would be made into usable water.

Maybe the description could be changed to "Filters raw sewage to have less impact on the environment." Or just add "Does not make potable/useable water."

The water is clean enough to no pollute, it just can't be used as input water for machines, to prevent such loops.

Pump it deep below ground. I've taken to setting up workshops outside of the mines, then pumping all the waste inside about 20-30 blocks below the surface, and slowly refilling the mine with tailings. So far 0 ground pollution. And the sewage doesn't even form pools (not sure if it's supposed to or not).

It's not supposed to :)

gonna have to do it anyway with the wet tailings.

Will full water filtration be an option in future releases? I also ran into the issue where I assumed the filtered water can be reused, but wouldn't a full filtration solution be a solution?

We at least don't have any plans for that currently.
