Can't play with friends
Nothing happens when either of us try to join each other in the game, can anyone point me in the right direction?

For those that find this, the easiest way I have found to ensure you can join together. Have one friend start the game and host the server. Then once they are in the game, click on their name in your friends list and use the join game option. Steam will open ECO for you and you will join. If you both have ECO open, it doesn't work. If you try to join via the ECO game menu, it sometimes works, but usually doesn't. So far using this method of NOT opening the game and clicking join game has been 100% effective.

What you can try is having one of you host and give the Server ID to the other one to connect manually via the "+" in the top right in "Your Worlds". The Server ID can be found in Steam/steamapps/common/Eco/Eco_Data/Server/Configs/Network.eco in "ID":
