Different plants require more than just soil nutrients, you have to use the temperature and their natural biome to your advantage.
Is the fertilizer specialty really necessary for a 7-8 player game over two months?
My answer is.... Meh, not really. Even farming would be a pain tbh. One dedicated cook is PLENTY for that many people, if playing on med to low collab. Not sure about high, haven't tried it. Whenever you get a lvl 4 upgrade in the butchery table, you will have enough food for the entire time. Butchery and Campfire Cooking would be fine.
Honestly the butchery table is way OP lol.
A developer literally said in this very discussion that, and I quote, "No, that's what fertilizers are for". So no, nutrients will not regain over time.
