Hmm, you had a really long Develop Phases and on release you find these Errors? Sorry, i can't understand this and why you are not test theses Builds BEFORE Releaes.

MB Better release Beta's and let others Test. More Bugs will catched.

In my Eye's the 9.0 release is a desater :/

JUst my 2 cents

As Linux is not officially supported, priority for it is low. We don't make linux builds until the last few weeks before release to speed up our builds. Sorry, it's a compromise we need to take. We're trying to fix the issue as soon as possible with an hotfix.

In my Eye's a bad decision, because 90% of Servers runs under Linux. And i mean not the Hosting Companies. For private Guys a Windows Server is really useless.

This is ONLY about the client. Linux Servers are done and ready, but we're having issues with SteamCMD that are being worked on right now. (And the servers ARE officially supported since 9.0)

Not to mention this is the first time we offer linux servers, we didnt have any before.

Hi,

It is always sad to remember that our beloved OS is not widespread (yet :3) in the gaming community, but if it may have speeded up your development, fair enough.
In any case, publishing day rarely goes completely quirkless (or it wouldn't be funny). You will do better next time ;)

Can you keep us informed of the progress on this issue ? (any idea about timing ?)

Whatever, bravo for the update and good luck for the incoming days ^^

Linux Servers are working, and fine so it seems. So we're happy to got that milestone done.

For Linux Client i'm very honest with you, we only got a single person working on build stuff and devops and we simply do not have the resources for a focus on linux there. You buying some invites for friends on linux - while i'd appreciate that - cannot change this. To pay another dev for this we'd need a hell lot more sales and linux is, as you're well aware somewhere at 1%.

Why it is not working for Proton i don't know - we don't check for Proton.

It not being mentioned in the announcement is indeed my fault, i had it announced on Discord but forgot it here in the heat of release day, you're absolutely right with this. I'm sorry for that. I tried to answer all linux questions immediately and with a link to the issue so you can follow it, though.

I cannot give you a serious estimate for release, we only have single person that can work on it. But it's tagged critical, that means it's supposed to be hotfixed. I'd personally love if it was hotfixed with 9.0.2 but i can't promise that. And i'd rather not promise something i cannot hold.

Thank you for at least being honest, that is one of the few things I do appreciate in people. While this info should not be shocking to me, I can't help but wonder a little about why you even have a linux build at this point. If you don't want or can't put enough time into making the Linux version work, then why not focus on making it work on Proton? That should (theoretically) be easier as then you could claim that the game not working on Linux wasn't your fault at all.

I know that developers are constrained on money and time, but I can't help but feel a little hurt, when you offer a linux native executable, without giving it as much love as the other releases. If you'd never made a native linux version. Then we would have struggled with Proton and the community would have found a solution, but since it's native... No one focuses on trying to make it run under Proton at all and ones like me, don't understand WINE well enough to spot the issue.

With all that said

I hope the game turns a profit, as no matter how annoying it is to not be able to play it atm, it's still at great game with a good core idea

Hey Dennis
If you read this - I would like to tell you that the reason the game fails on proton is due to steam_api64.dll causing issues
