How deep can you mine in the game?
Is there a depth or height limit?

Any chance of a world running out of resources?

The game is literally built so you have to manage your resources and not run out. It's the entire purpose. Don't kill the planet while saving it from a meteor. There are finite of every resource. Extinction of animals and plants are possible. No clue how deep you can go but I've seen others say around level 20.
Massive quarry is what I do. Just pick a size and dig it all up till you no longer can.

How finite? I mean, based on the trailer and what I have seen it seems you can build anything you want and not need to worry about resources.

Is it a matter of, "You can build as much as you want, as long as you don't mind destroying the planet"?

I have gone as far as 40 blocks down, and has not stoped me yet, from going deeper.

Not sure, I've never ran out before. Plants you can regrow and animals you can keep alive if you make sure they have food and keep their balance so they are finite but renewable. Sorry I can't be of more assistance but you should have plenty of minerals on the planet to do what you need/want even if it's crazy.

As for height limit I know you can built to the meteor level. Or, at least at first you could. Haven't tested it since.

Good to know they've expanded it down, thank you.

There's an Y coordinate in the lower right corner, which is usually around 40 at sealevel. Pretty sure zero deepth is the maximum you can dig down.

That "finite" is only theoretical. Unless you play with 50 people in a standard sized map i doubt anyone could ever use up all the resources in the ground. There's just too much ore everywhere

In my game there is some type of bedrock on layer 8, i could not go deeper.
And I will never build underground again, hauling stuff up/down is tiring. This game needs some piping mod (like buildcraft for minecraft).
