Can people steal from you outside claimed area (public land)?

Sooo... Odd thing happened for me today. Yesterday I placed 5 fishtraps and 1 chest to gather some fish while I was away from pc. Today I logged in, they're gone. I thought maybe some other players took it, because it was outside my property? Can someone explain for me please? Feelin kinda dumb here :D

i tired it with a friend, (stockpile) so not the same thing but same auth for these kind of objects. And when i placed it outside a claimed area she could use it.

Yes, other players can "steal" your stuff if it is not inside ur claims.

Yeah, if you want other players to be unable to interact with them, you have to claim that ocean property.

Sounds like a lot of extra code for no reason. Just claim your property or understand public property is owned by the public.

There is the "Chronicler" mod that allows admins to log actions.

I consider using that to identify thieves to be cheating. Just my opinion

It's one of the most used admin tools to enforce rules, which can include rules for taking from unclaimed property as well.
