Game ends when late game starts
The day I get my beloved Skid Steer someone is already shooting down the meteor. It's almost like there is no Skid Steer in the game at all.
Please add more content, even if it's just mindless padding content, after we unlock the actually fun tools, so that the game don't end at the same time we do

Edit: Of course, I mean content that actually spends skill points for the sake of getting the tech to exclusively destroy the meteor. Why would you use that steel to improve your house if you can use it to blow the meteor?

But yes, we indeed want to give more challenges and goals to the game and polish up the balance as well as introduce new 'end-game' content.

That said, the main goal of the game still is that players create something with the tools they have - and that is not bound to the meteor at all.

The game is not meant to end, but it does. Most servers are dead after less than 1 week.
This is a shame since this is a very nice game to play... it's relaxing and the graphics are pretty.
Now, my opinion on why:
1. The Meteor - with the existence of the Meteor you make the game into a race against time.
2. Player burnout due to racing against time to destroy the Meteor. At some point point players have overdone it on Eco and need a break. They just don't come back to a server, they go to a new server to start fresh.
3. The competition against other players to get new tech, equipment etc. This is why no one joins a server that is more than 5 days old... its like showing up to a garage sale late... all the good stuff is gone.
4. Tailings. Once tailings start to get produced, the world starts to die. Players that are are irresponsible with their tailing disposal ruin the world for the remaining players who really don't want to dispose of thousands of tailings left by some doofus who is no longer playing.
5. Mid game (lumber/brick/mechanics) occurs very quickly but there is no mid game content to play with... all the interesting stuff is left for the end game.
6. End game (adv smelting) once adv smelting is researched, the game becomes too complicated that peeps just give up. The sheer number of benches required to build anything is absurd.
7. Some peeps just want to chill and build houses and farms and roads... but the game doesn't let that happen. The worlds get stripped clean immediately of everything that isn't protected by claims, leaving in some cases no way to access the basics required to start simple research or food.
8. Updates break stores. When there is an update (and yes, making the game better is a very good thing) all stores get broken and have to be reset. This means that stores set up by players who are no longer playing will have the content forever lost to that server until someone unclaimed that land.
9. There is no way to know who is on a server without joining that server first. I see endless peeps joining and leaving 30 secs later. What are they doing? They are looking to see if anyone they know is playing and what the map looks like.
10. The unbearable lag/fps drop. I prefer to set up away from town so I don't get sucked into a lag vortex. When you go into town, very often the lag makes the game unplayable. Players want to set up towns/trading hubs but that density kills the game.
11. Boats. Where the hell are our boats. And while your at it fix the water please. It's hard to sculpt nature when water gives you the middle finger.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love this game and have had many hours of fun playing it.
I'm optimistic about the future of the game, and yes there is a lot to be done before the game is finished, but if players aren't sticking around to play the game it all ends up being rather moot.

ill add reason why i stop playng after 3 days
1. power cart(it must be between cart and steamtuck before assembly line, cuz any other vehicle r better than it in turning speed, load, size(power cart r to huge))
2. elevators bug, when ill go far from it, its stop working til restart or rebuild em and all buttons
3. unbalanced progress, its goes like 1-2-3-19-57-58-59
4. diging with shovel(1 block at a time seriosly ?)
5. cuz digging, bricks r most painful process i ever saw in gaming since 1991
6. excavator r harder than in real life(cuz on computer i can use only hands), just make it easyer, like changing deph +-6 tiles from it on Z and X(or elce), and simple choosing place with mouse, where to dig or drop with any color marker. (i understand thats it is harder to develop than simple 8 button scheme, but u doing it for customers, so do it less painful)
7. skid steer need more space inside, and better controls to make tunnels or roads faster. now ugly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ worst digging mechanic r faster than skid steer, wtf
8. add lategame content like T2 crane with good horisontal arrow and roling hook on it, where u can go vertical, horisontal and sides(with possibility to decrease and increase crane heigh), instead crane changing angle of arrow where u can't move hook horisontaly, with T2 pickaxe - like drill
for now, this game is to painful

also, why excavator takes only 3-5% of rock pieces from breaked rocks ? and others i must gather manualy

That's why I excavate with a skid steer connected to tables to 'drain' the resources on it's small inventory

Dreams of more end game content continue... The 7 to 10 day death cycle of servers is frustrating each time I re-install the game. Even boats aren't going to add real end game content or extend server life I'd speculate... Is there an ECO 2 with updated capabilities heading into space and multiple planets once you save the first? LOL
