Can't connect to singleplayer, only multiplayer
Like the title says. I can only join multiplayer servers and not play on my own. I have no mods and shouldn't have any savefiles.
I've had this problem a while ago, but somehow something fixed it. I do have the game outside from Steam and could use that version, but I'd like to play the one I have on Steam. I have validated my files and all that stuff.
Error message is:
Connection Failed
Failed to connect - connection timed out

Any suggestions on what to do to fix it, or do I have to wait for the next update to be able to use the Steam version?

Are you using the Load option?

I wanted to create a completely new one, so I went into the create new thing. Can't remember the name of that tab. Also tried to load.

In that case sending your logs to support@strangeloopgames,com after you tried to load / create a world would help: https://github.com/StrangeLoopGames/EcoIssues/wiki/Getting-the-Eco-server-and-client-log-files-for-local-world

Likely reasons are a corrupted mods folder (remove it and verify integrity afterwards) or any changes made to WorldGenerator.eco, as via ingame you can only generate default worlds with no changes.

Will send the logs over.

I tried to remove the mods folder and then verified it. Still the same problem. And I am 99% sure I haven't done anything to the worldgenerator.eco.

Sent an email to them, got a fast respond with a easy sollution. My installation was corrupted, so I just had to uninstall the game, delete all Eco stuff (folder in Steam and in Appdata/LocalRow) and reinstall the game and now it works.

Thanks for the help!

You could try the same steps they told me;
1. Uninstall the game
2. Delete the whole Eco folder in Steam/steamapps
3. Delete the Strange Loop Games folder in AppData/LocalLow
4. Reinstall the game

If you want to keep your savegames, then you should make a backup of those somewhere.

Thank you, that helped! Still would be nice if the would release another kind of fix.

There is no way to fix this ourselves as this issue is not caused by us. I'm glad the instructions helped you two, though :)

I also have a problem with connection time out.I create my own world, play at the same time, and when I start to change the location of my habitat or activity, it is about 50-100 meters from the place of appearance( entrance to the game), the fps starts to sink and connection time out crashes .after repeating this error several times, the save stops loading at all.Help game unichtazhaet my writings 72 hours played and all in 0.the methods above did not help

Playing in multiplayer there are no such problems , a small drawdown of fps happens but without departures

It's not any changes, but any changes that make the world bigger, as the singleplayer uses the 32-Bit server and any size bigger than default size will exceed the RAM limit for it and therefore crash. As we do not recommend and support changing config files that cannot be altered on world generation for singleplayer, i kept it short. If you want to change stuff manually, please start the server manually via EcoServer.exe (which is the 64-Bit one).
