Map size in singleplayer
So apparently the maps are kind of small based on, what I have read so far. I would like to start a singleplayer world but I love to explore and always go for the biggest map available. Apparently chosing a singleplayer world for more players than 1-3 would give a bigger map but slow down skill gain and such. Is there any way currently to change the size of your singleplayer map without having to setup a server for it?

you can edit the "eco" files for map size.
I picked the largest map size and it still spawned me a .5km map for single player.
The game wants to load the entire map into memory so be aware the larger the map the more memory it will use.

Good luck

Ohh the files in the actual ECO folder? Like xml files or whatever they use for this game?

config folder in server folder that in game folder. WorldGenerator file -> dimensions. for ~2km 144 for X and Y. water level something like 100, height level something like ~170 if you want montains and ocean
set seed too or leave it by default

you dont have to change the maps size if your doing single player jusy choose the 10-30 player map and once loaded type the following command

/skillrate 24

this is for single players that want to play on a larger map. Remember you have to do this everytime you log into the game.

Be aware that by cheesing a larger map type, you are drastically reducing the difficulty of your playthrough.

Since you are playing a game for 1 player, your available resource pool, and available world size, all impact your results. A world that is 4 times larger will afford you 4 times the resources, but also 4 times the space - and mother nature needs to have room, too.

If you had a world that was miles upon miles large, you could build to your hearts content and never make a dent in mother nature. That, you see, is what happened in reality - we started off so small compared to the world size, that we thought, "We will never make a change".

But now our server is full.
If you want to retain the level of challenge, try playing with the world you are given.

I did :D Also the map is a little bigger than what it sounded like it would be, based on the comments I had read about the game. :D Still nice to know how to change it, in case I just wanna play a game without focusing so much on the impact on the ecosystem.
