Recommended world size
Hi,

i am always "experimenting" to check out the perfect size for my Eco-Planet.
My server will have not more than 10 users.

Is there a recommendation for the planet size in relation to the users?

100 x 100 was default (1km2) back to alpha, but was possible to make 400 x 400 thats (4km2)
all over that are way too huge to your memory, most likely server crashes in creation.

Hm... after the first server start, without changing the defaults, i got a size of 72,72 = 0,5 km².

Then i tried 144,144 = 2 km² and then 100,100 = 1 km².

And now i am confused... which planet size should i use for 10 people? :-/

100x100 is good.

Our server
http://steamcommunity.com/app/382310/discussions/3/1699416432411547902/

Is intended for 30+ people and is experimenting with 172x172 and 200x200

Its better to stick to 72x72 (default) 100x100, 140x140 or 200x200, this is due to chunk generation (those are all recommended settings from the devs)

I have a server hosted by Nitrado, and upon install it builds the default 72x72 world. If I wanted to change that to 200x200, would i need to delete any world files? so it regenerates bigger. OR just change the 72 to 200 and restart the server? clean wipe is fine, we're just getting started.

our server is set to 700,700 ... takes a little longer to load in but its just fine.

The bigger the world the more plants you have that clear air pollution. So in a bigger world with only a few people you will disable pollution problems just because of the worldsize.
Therefor with <10 people i would just stay at the default size

We are in Ecotopia on 4 km2 world and it hard for RAM of player and server itself.
But it's nice to plan logistics and make long roads in that big lands.

It also depends, if you put in what type of difficulty in medium or hard.

For example in low, it is fesable to have more trades at the same time!

What has difficulty (=skillpoint rate) to do with worldsize or trades ???

We have Medium and its not enough difficult. Especially when everyone make ugly cheathomes with +50sp in short time.
Will be Hard specializing next time. With laws for even more divide of professions.

You could try increasing the world slowly. IE try 100x100, start it up and see if its suitable for what you want and see if there is any lag and such, walk around for abit perhaps 10 or 15 mins on it. if all is fine but want to increase world bit more then try 120x120 or 150x150 but i wouldnt go much higher then 150x150. as it would be taxing on the server. lot of lag and possible crashing.

Now we play test server of devs with 16 km2
latest staging
74.85.92.174:32741
It's works well, except map
