Offline mode is a feature we want and have. We had some problems with that a few hours ago, but it should be resolved by now.
steam can be in offline mode and still have a game connect to the games servers..
yea, most people should probably learn how to use the english language before posting on forums too.. not like the store page doesnt have a SINGLE PLAYER icon or anything right there for the world to see.

No external connection or hardware required. Well ... besides downloading the game itself, obviously.

EDIT: That said, ECO really isn't a "survival" game. You can't starve, drown, sleep or take damage in any fashion. Meteors are the only thing that can kill you.
