Eco ended my grafics card
so i got my friend to get the game to so we were working out to set up a dedicated server to later put on are 24/7 server. but because of testing this and setting it all up, i had to run the server on my pc. and thats where it happend my video card blow up. was it eco was it the eco server i don't know. but the game is asking way to much from a pc to run it, so im not fully blaming the not optimized game. but im not starting it up again before it gets some optimization

images of the burned out card that i had to replace :(

If you're running a dedicated server... thats not going to blow your graphics card. Servers use RAM and CPU.
I would think this is a coincidence
Also this looks like a 10 series card; is it still in warranty? It's also very dusty, are you sure it wasnt overheating or anything prior to this burn out?

it was a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760. so had no more warranty on it :P
but again im not saying it's because of ECO it's like you said maybe coincidence, and having friends and girlfriend talking about stuff and things they found online about it and all and all was adding up on my feelings. as i sort of feel that it was it's time and as i do hours and hours of gaming and life streaming ad a time, i just feel it was it's time.

so basically read it more as a sarcastic joke xD that said the game does pull a lot un needed stuff so some more optimizing would have to take place

ahh okay, i gotcha! 760 is oollddd, surprised it lasted as long as it did and it sounds like it led a good life

But i agree, this game is heavy, it looks absolutely gorgeous though so theres that! Its also alpha, give it a year or so and itll be in a good spot i think :P

true the game is awesome and i was so happy when i got my copy of the game as i was following it from day one that the first stuff came to light. i love the idea and the plans did play it and enjoyed it a lot. and i finally had some one to play with and this stuff happens. not even 4 days ago my coffee maker past away as well so it feld bad :facepunch:

This game at 1080p is giving my GTX 1070 a workout. 100% load with 5.2GB of 8GB being sucked up. It is completely blowing the fan curve. I hope they do work on optimizing, because it has crashed my GPU several times with System Timeouts after non-responsive calls to the GPU. Wish they would use CPU multi-threading too, as Core1 is pegged at 100% while Core0,2,3 are doing nothing.

It's the only game that I play that my Nvidia GTX 960 fans turn on (at least to a noise noticeable level). I usually close my home-office door and play this early in the AM on weekends so that my computer can heat up the room without my having to turn on the heat, normally the computer doesn't put out enough heat to heat the room at all.

I had played another game when my computer blue screened and all I heard was the last sound the game was playing on contstant screech mode.

I reset my computer and it wouldn't start, kept saying it couldn't find the HDD/SSD. I initially thought somehow the game had killed my HDD/SDD's. After investigating further I found that the computer died because the way that the SATA cables were routed had them applying pressure to the connection that then pulled the pins through the mainboard breaking the solder joints on the bottom and fried the mainboard.

We've also had a older video card that died while playing Minecraft, guess it was just it's time.

Yeah we had a coffee maker and a toaster die at 3AM together (the toaster just turned off while making toast and the coffee maker went out with a LOUD bang as the water heating system exploded inside the unit). Went down to the 24 hour Walmart bought a new coffee maker and toaster oven. Unpacked put the toast in the toaster oven and the coffee in the coffee maker, and wouldn't you know it... The toaster wouldn't turn on at all (had to go back and get another one that did end up working) - damn mechanical items.

I remember my first 286 SX25 that died on me when I was visiting a BBS and had just installed a video card and color monitor. I swore up and down that it was the new fangled color on my screen that killed the computer. Nope, it was just it's time.

eco effects my cpu the most, im watercooled and still my temps after hours of playing are pushing the safety limits, the gpu temps are fine. this said my watercooler due some maintaince...
City Builder Mar 27, 2018 @ 1:37pm
It does affect my CPU as well, getting it up to about 158 to 165 and it's only air cooled. Been making me think about pulling the CPU and cleaning and applying new arctic silver to see if that does anything although it was just installed on this mainboard a couple years ago after the last mainboard died from that SATA routing problem.

May as well buy one of the later FX CPU's if I'm going to go to the trouble of removing and reinstalling the current CPU.

158??? Thats DANGER ZONE!!!
No wonder your gpu fried, i dont even want to know what that thing was running at!

The LIMIT is 100 celsius (the default temperature-monitoring temp)... jesus man, clean that thing out, get new cooling!
City Builder Mar 27, 2018 @ 2:01pm
Sorry, but that's in Fahrenheit not celsius. So only around 70c when maxed out. At idle it runs about 90F. Oh and video card was on a different computer. I've never had a video card give up on me before it's useful life span has already been exceeded.

hahahaha that Fahrenheit Celsius mix up always gets me to xD or inch and meters :Khappy:

hmmm any of you checked your heat sync compound? Your cpu's should be nowhere near that high. I run this game it barely passes 50c. Granted a cpu can run at the temps youre running, but it will shorten its life span. I get that this game is unoptimised but ive never had twmp issues due to it and I have standard cooling.
Shane Mar 28, 2018 @ 1:49am
cpu temps running high are not to huge a deal mate lol

heck you can run em 24/7 close to the limits its not a massive ordeal, might need some thermal paste, clean, whatever, might even need replacing soon, its already old tech now ive had a hard reset happen a few times last couple of months as well so... yea somethings off

no big deal ive checked it all, and the cpu just needs a clean/paste is all (im not worried anyway) even with the hard reset, when its been running best part of 200+hrs a fornight its whole lifespan, i smoke around, its sat on the floor near enough with all the grime and dirt, dont panic, dont fret, its just tech lol

i should clean it now really, but i cant be bothered

well since i can no longer play the game figured i would clean out the system its not my temps i think perhaps GPU might possibly be on its last legs...
Secret Mar 29, 2018 @ 2:26pm
thermal paste is only supposed to be replaced if you remove the cpu/heat sink or if the hardware takes enough of a hit to possibly physically cause the bond to be broken (in which case reapplying thermal paste is probably the least of your concerns). it takes hundreds of hours to even set properly, why would anyone replace it on a whim?

the FAR more common problem is dust (and that card looked VERY dirty). anyone reading this should probably suck/blow out their case simply as a precaution.
