I would think this is a coincidence
Also this looks like a 10 series card; is it still in warranty? It's also very dusty, are you sure it wasnt overheating or anything prior to this burn out?
but again im not saying it's because of ECO it's like you said maybe coincidence, and having friends and girlfriend talking about stuff and things they found online about it and all and all was adding up on my feelings. as i sort of feel that it was it's time and as i do hours and hours of gaming and life streaming ad a time, i just feel it was it's time.
so basically read it more as a sarcastic joke xD that said the game does pull a lot un needed stuff so some more optimizing would have to take place
But i agree, this game is heavy, it looks absolutely gorgeous though so theres that! Its also alpha, give it a year or so and itll be in a good spot i think :P
I had played another game when my computer blue screened and all I heard was the last sound the game was playing on contstant screech mode.
I reset my computer and it wouldn't start, kept saying it couldn't find the HDD/SSD. I initially thought somehow the game had killed my HDD/SDD's. After investigating further I found that the computer died because the way that the SATA cables were routed had them applying pressure to the connection that then pulled the pins through the mainboard breaking the solder joints on the bottom and fried the mainboard.
We've also had a older video card that died while playing Minecraft, guess it was just it's time.
Yeah we had a coffee maker and a toaster die at 3AM together (the toaster just turned off while making toast and the coffee maker went out with a LOUD bang as the water heating system exploded inside the unit). Went down to the 24 hour Walmart bought a new coffee maker and toaster oven. Unpacked put the toast in the toaster oven and the coffee in the coffee maker, and wouldn't you know it... The toaster wouldn't turn on at all (had to go back and get another one that did end up working) - damn mechanical items.
I remember my first 286 SX25 that died on me when I was visiting a BBS and had just installed a video card and color monitor. I swore up and down that it was the new fangled color on my screen that killed the computer. Nope, it was just it's time.
May as well buy one of the later FX CPU's if I'm going to go to the trouble of removing and reinstalling the current CPU.
No wonder your gpu fried, i dont even want to know what that thing was running at!
The LIMIT is 100 celsius (the default temperature-monitoring temp)... jesus man, clean that thing out, get new cooling!
heck you can run em 24/7 close to the limits its not a massive ordeal, might need some thermal paste, clean, whatever, might even need replacing soon, its already old tech now ive had a hard reset happen a few times last couple of months as well so... yea somethings off
no big deal ive checked it all, and the cpu just needs a clean/paste is all (im not worried anyway) even with the hard reset, when its been running best part of 200+hrs a fornight its whole lifespan, i smoke around, its sat on the floor near enough with all the grime and dirt, dont panic, dont fret, its just tech lol
i should clean it now really, but i cant be bothered
the FAR more common problem is dust (and that card looked VERY dirty). anyone reading this should probably suck/blow out their case simply as a precaution.
