Tree chopping: How does it work?
1.So you can cut off the branches first. What is it for? Any reason?
2.And you can chop away the leaves and get seeds, but it seems that when they fall, they spread anyway, making new saplings.

So how does the game mechanic work in detail? Is it explained anywhere?

1. yeah less woodpulp, thats why.
2. if u have gathering to max. u earn more saplings.
if not u have just a 30% chance for saplings

ignore very rude prats like scrooge, this is the point for forums, people ask questions and hopefully other people answer them. Cutting of leaves gives seeds, cutting of branches reduces wood pulp. wood pulp is a pain for servers because if you dont clear it up it will eventually place a strain on servers as the game has to keep track of all pulp eating into the ram of the server, if your planet has 100's of trees cut down there can be literally 1000's of pulp. trees do not seed themselves as such if you clear away the stump (another item the game has to keep track of) eventually the tree will regrow. Finally it is good practice to search the forums to see if another person has asked a similar question, which i am not suggesting you have not already done.
Happy gaming , i love this game for its inability to have griefers

Just make sure you claim spawn so nobody can dig a hole there

YT only shows how to use it, not the rules behind it. Mr. Smart guy. The validity of exchanging information about stuff is not for you to decide. The world gives a **** about your opinion really. It's hard to accept, I know.

But if you get bad vibes from stuff like that, I have the ultimate advice for you to deal with it: Don't click it. Fascinating solution, right? It is called a free society. You are actually not forced to deal with stuff you don't like.
Do the world a favor and just grow up to a point where you are less toxic.

As much as I wish this were true, it isn't. Griefers attacked our server. There were some parts of the main town that were unclaimed, notably a large bridge crossing a large lake. The griefers destroyed those. It took the admins a whole day to undo the damage and spawn claims in just to protect the common areas.
