How do you use the Meteor Shard?

Says it has 100 uses, wiki says it can be hung on backpack, but I've not found out how to do it.

It just hangs on your backpack and lights up the area for others but not yourself. Should be able to equip it in the backpack somehow, it's been awhile since I got to play around with one.

I just can't figure out how to equip it.. I've tried everything that comes to mind, even googled the issue and looked around here on steam discussions.

Am I missing something obvious?

How? It has no equipment slot, left/right clicking it does nothing. putting it in hand and clicking does nothing. Dragging it to backpack, or any other equipment slot for that matter, does nothing.

put it in your tool bar and it will hang off your back pack. It doesnt have its own slot, you dont need to have it in hand for it to show just in your tool bar.

Yep, just put it in one of your quick slots. It's merely for decoration.
