Can't read scroll

I created the 'Wood Construction Skill Scroll', but when I right-click it to learn wood construction, nothing happens [says right-click to learn Wood Construction (consumes item)].

Any ideas?

You have prolly learned it already... check your skills to see if you can access that skill. There should be a skill for every scroll.

No, first thing I checked. It says I haven't learned it in the techtree and that I need to read the scroll made from the book (which is in my inventory).

Looks like a pretty odd bug to me. According to that screenshot no one in the game has ever researched the skillbook and that's why you can't use it.
When someone on a server researches a book for the first time the "not reasearched" text should change to "not learned" for the whole server. (Basically the same in singleplayer)
I guess the book was crafted and not cheated ?

Yes, I crafted the book and I play single player.

i'll bet ya 5 logs and a sawmill that you can't read it because your bag is full so it has nowhere to put the claim flags.

That would suck. Especially when the scroll is supposed to be consumed when used. But thanks for the tip – next time I play I'll try reading it again with my stomach filled with shrooms.

Just incase people come across this having the same problem but look in you backpack after right clicking the book I made 42 scrolls not realizing it went into it.
