Tree grow or not

Where and how can i change tree growing time? i have played about 10h and my trees do not grow. i planted them myself on single game. is this bug or why are them not growing? ..i have tried to find in config where i can change that time, but cant find it. can someone help and tell me where, or is this a bug why them are not growing? i have 5 blocks between those saplings, is that enough?

nvm. fixd it. trees wont grow next to grass or plants. -.-

Actually, they will grow next to almost anything. The normal grow time is 100+ real-time hours in game for all trees. You will not notice much growth right away. If you have the farm tool which allows you to analyze crops and soil you can also use it on the trees to see growth time and such. Also, 5 blocks might be just inside the permited growth limit on trees. I usually plant them about 8 apart.
