Actually running antiviruses are always smart thing to do and its not recommended to ever turn them off. In this case its a false generic flagging of a quite generic code. Nothing We can fix , only the Antivirus developer can resolve this

nonsense. how many instances of viruses propagating through steam games are there? pretty sure its 0. im not saying turn it off and go hit porn sites. only when installing games, because alot of the issues people have with games not working are exactly the kinds of issues described here. the antivirus decides some file is bad so it quarantines it. therefore the game cant launch properly and you end up with people verifying files (which makes them then re-download said "infected" file..) multiple times before finally giving up and making the forum post.

steams own words:

"Anti-virus Software

Anti-virus software hooks very deep into user systems and can affect disk and network operations which will cause issues with Steam. Some games also use copy protection technology that can appear as malicious software to an AV scanner, resulting in potential false-positive alerts.

You'll want to ensure that your AV software is not interfering with Steam. You may also need to add exceptions for Steam and its games in your AV configuration."

Consonant. Temporarily added to the server exception and wrote to the developers about virus scan false positive, and wait for the correction in their system, the game is new and I don't think I'm the only one with this problem, just want it quickly resolved, and others not encountered it ;)

Depends on the windows used. Windows 10 has a very solid builtin antivirus and using any additional AV software is totally unecessary: https://m.windowscentral.com/do-you-need-pc-antivirus
It just slows down computers, giving false-positives but doesn't increase security.

That's as bad as saying "You can't get a virus on a Mac." Neither of these things are true. You absolutely can get a virus on a Mac, and Microsoft are not antivirus developers. Their "built-in" antivirus is basic as all get out. As someone who's been in the computer repair business for a very long time, I beg you, please stop spreading this kind of nonsense.

That's not to say that either Apple or Microsoft are in any way slow about patching their OS when something major comes about, they're actually pretty quick about it, but they don't specialize in anti-virus/malware detection software. For that sort of protection you're going to want a specialist. There are plenty of very reasonable solutions out there that are moderately priced and well worth every penny spent in protecting your information and system.

Sure, all the big IT-, computer-, game- and security magazines are wrong and you "expert" know better -.-
How about you tell em that ? And don't forget to add that their AV tests are obviously paid hoaxes because Windows Defender ranks top 5.
(Btw the budget and size of microsofts security department is bigger then Norton & Kaspersky together, but yes they have no know-how -.- )
Just keep telling people they need to PAY for something that they already own...

You should maybe update your security knowledge from Windows 95 a bit more to 2018 ;)

1) I work in the field of information technology, and to me often people obrazuyutsya for help to cure once the virus, and believe me, where there is the normal extra protection cases of about 1%, and where there is Devoluy antivirusnik and be viruses.
2) Most people showing off what they have is the default antivirusnik, or he did not need to have a bunch of small viruses that do their dirty work sending out spam, stealing nobody wants information or attacking other computers if you are on 2-3 sites, and I play 2-3 toys, it does not mean that it is a merit well done virus scan, or you do not need anyone to make you someone attacked and tried to hack!!!
3) install a bunch of payment programs, polazte not 1-2 sites, and hundreds, include a dedicated IP address and start the server toys and propiarte it, do often shopping through your computer, and I'll see how soon your passwords will be stolen, and your computer will slow down with your default antivirus!!!
4) and then many yelling that mass were hacked credit cards or the like, although have all is worth default antivirusnik by default!!!
