VR Compositor support and/or detecting Virtual Desktop from Unity
Hi there,

we're using the SteamVR and Oculus compositors for our loading screens and I just found out that Virtual Desktop apparently doesn't support rendering to those compositors. So the first question: Would that be feasible at all and if so, is it something that could land at some point in the near feature?

If not ... is there any way to detect Virtual Desktop from Unity? Like, a specific device name? I'd need this to work both via Oculus SDK and SteamVR to make sure we can have custom handling for our loading screens in Virtual Desktop in both cases.

Virtual Desktop on Quest supports the Oculus SDK (LibOVR), OpenVR and OpenXR (through SteamVR). To use the Oculus SDK, the game (or Unity in your case) needs to be injected. This can be done by launching it from the Steamer tray icon.
