Simulate Multiples Monitor in VR

If I made Windows think I had two connected displays like this:

1.Right click on the desktop, click 'Screen Resolution'
2.Click 'Detect' on the next screen
3.Click 'Another display not detected' and under the multiple displays option select 'Try to connect anyway on: VGA'
4.Click 'Apply'
5.You can now enable your desktop to be extended as if you have a second screen plugged into your computer. \

Are still could detect multiple monitors in Virtual Desktop?

Yes that's one way to fake monitors in Windows and Virtual Desktop will see those. It doesn't seem to work in Windows 10 unfortunately but you can use something like a Headless Ghost[headlessghost.com].

Nice ,Thanks for your quick reply, was great if you could add an option to the Virtual Desktop you can add and select more monitors. Are you think it's possible to do that?

It's a Windows limitation. Each monitor (real of fake) has to be associated with a display port on the video card.

Hi more questions (might be a silly ones).

If you buy an HDMI emulator will you need to make sure that the device can support 4K resolution to get the best experience? Given that the Rift/Vive headsets are both 2160 x 1200 x per eye your actual VR Desktop will be much smaller resolution inside your VR headset.

My current monitor goes to a max of 1920x1200 does VR desktop only allow the resolution from your monitor as selectable options (probably windows 10 limited). If so would buying a HDMI emulator that allows 4K be more benificial? Or make no difference at all?

Love you work, VD was my number 1 app on the DK2 and will be buying this day 1 :)

I think this is a huge limitation. Is there anything in the works on your guys' ends that would allow you to bypass this limitation?

Also, are you limited to the resolution of the monitors?

I love my Headless Ghost, I got mine from the KS campaign and it's one of the ones in a ghost shaped she'll :)

Is Virtual Desktop still limited to monitor refresh rate?

Could that be fixed by modifying the graphics card driver? AMD and NV could add this support.
