Virtual Desktop

Can't open Virtual Desktop anymore, won't launch.
Running windows 10 on a fairly powerful rig - the app worked fine the first time but could never get it to open again. Says it is starting up then just stops, no change in screen, what gives?

That's starting from Steam? You can try starting the app from the executable directly (this solves the issues with SteamVR). If you mouse over the icon in the system tray, you'll see why it isn't starting. If you enable error notifications, you'll get the message as a Windows notification.

nothing seems to be working.. I'd hate to request a refund because i enjoyed the app the one and only time it worked but now I feel like I've payed for something I'll never be able to use...

tried restoring previous versions, deleting local files and reinstalling - nothing.

This was happening to me, and I followed ggodin's advice and there was a sneaky Windows security pop-up that wasn't loading when booting up the app from Steam. Perfect from then on in once I selected "Hell Yeah" (pretty sure that was what the accept button said anyway...").

I ran into this problem and after trying everything else, it turned out to be a a process running in the background. Killed it and restarted without any issues.

Hey! Can you remember which process was causing the problem?

MSI Afterburner, Riva Tuner are known to cause issues. Check the FAQ for details

Thank you for responding so fast, but I already tried that and didn´t had any of those software. Is there any way I can give you a report or something?

Can you email me a list of process that are running? Send it to guygodin at hotmail.

How to create such a list: http://tech-wrap.com/generate-list-running-processes-text-file/

Hi Fable09, do you have any anti-viruses on your computer that could prevent it from running?
