[BUG] Voice commands not working when playing video in full screen.
Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but one thing I've noticed is that when playing a video in full screen the voice commands don't seem to work. What I usually do is start playing a video via Steam Desktop and want to reset the oriented while it's playing. This happens with Youtube, Crunchyroll, and Netflix. I'm using an HTC Vive btw.

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Open a video to play, and pause it. e.g., http://www.crunchyroll.com/ace-attorney/episode-1-the-first-turnabout-702349
  2. Launch Virtual Desktop
  3. Open the Steam overlay
  4. Select Desktop view
  5. Using the Vive controller maximize the video
  6. Start playing the video
  7. Close the Steam overlay
  8. Use the voice command "reset orientation"

This is mostly a QoL issue as you have to open the Steam overlay, pause the video, restore the video window and then you can either close the Steam overlay and use the voice commands or select Virtual Desktop and use the reset orientation button (the latter being a little difficult because the Steam overlay obstructs your view).

If there's a better place for bug reports, let me know and I'll toss it there, thanks!

That's because you are in the Steam overlay and not in Virtual Desktop. Why don't you play your videos (YouTube, Netflix) in Chrome while in Virtual Desktop?

Saw your other post. What happens is the voice commands only work when the Vive is set as the primary input device in Windows. If you check in SteamVR you can select an option that will make the Vive microphone the default input device automatically. That should let you use voice commands whenever Virtual Desktop is running.

Hey thanks for replying, just to clarify, for step 7 in the above post, once I start playing the video, I do close the Steam overlay so that Virtual Desktop is the only thing visible. I'm also using Chrome (but just checked, the same thing happens in Firefox as well).

When a video is playing in Virtual Desktop but it is not maximized, the voice commands do work, but when I open the Steam overlay, and go to the Desktop to maximize the video, and then close the Steam overlay, the voice commands no longer work.

Like I said probably related to what is the default input device in Windows at that time. It probably gets switched by another app. A suggestion would be to disable all input devices in the recording panel in Windows except for the Vive microphone.

I'm 100% positive this isn't the case because I can go from a normal window, the voice commands work, open Steam overlay, maximize the video, close Steam overlay and the voice commands do not work, and then open Steam overlay, restore the video to a window, close Steam overlay and the voice commands work again. I don't have any other mic or recording device on the machine either for it to switch between. It is very obvious problem once you see it happening, that the voice commands aren't responsive only when the video is maximized, but they work any other time.
