audio / video sync
I've just upgraded my rig and headset and whilst watching some videos the audio and video goes out of sync with the video falling behind. Ryzen 5 5600X, 1080Ti and a valve index

I think it only happens on higher resolution videos (7-8k). The video is smooth and the audio sounds fine. I suspect the video is slightly slower rather than the audio slight speed up as i think it would be easier to tell if the audio was fast. They start off aligned and get further and further apart throughout the video. If I skip to another part in the video the alignment doesn't reset.

If i play the video outside of VR in a media player it works fine.

I suspect its either a codec issue, new rig and all (i have k-light installed) or that my gpu isn't powerful enough. I did plan to upgrade the 1080Ti but you global chip shortage and all....

What do you think? Is there anything I can do?

from the DEV. in anouther thread: You need the HEVC video extension installed from the Microsoft store to play some of the higher res videos: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/hevc-video-extensions/9nmzlz57r3t7?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

I have a fix!
Change the Video decoding from DXVA to Direct 3d (on the Video tab, little cog on the upper left). Deleted the delay for me!
