Virtual Desktop

What does "use optimal resolution" do?
Hello.

In the VD app it says that "use optimal resolution is recommended". But I don't like the fact that my resolution changes and messes up my windows. So I'd like to understand what it does and why it's recommended?

And maybe as a follow up question, I have a quest 2. Will the fact that my monitor has 1440p resolution, which is lower than the quest 2 vertical resolution, have any negative impact on my virtual screen quality?

And also let me say that this is a great app, tried it with asgard's wrath today and was amazing.

Thank you!

1920x1080 is the optimal resolution with Quest 2 for the desktop (native resolution is 1832x1920 per eye). If you uncheck it, it wont change your monitor resolution and resize the desktop to 1920x1080 before encoding it.

Thank you for the reply. Do i understand correctly then that for image quality this won't make a difference but there might be a small (hopefully) performance hit?

And thank you again :-)
