No sound from Quest 2
Hi there just want to say thanks for the great program. I love using it to watch movies!

I recently bought a Quest 2 and when I connect it with link there is no sound coming through the headset. I can get sound with other apps like bigscreen though. I have tried toggling virtual sound on and off, tried changing playback devices etc. When changing playback devices I can get sounds though my speakers but when I switch back to "headphones virtual audio device" I get nothing.

It's odd because I can get sound when my Rift S is connected so I am not sure what the issue is.
Any ideas?

If you are using a Quest, I recommend using the native app on Quest (which is wireless) and not use the Steam version through Link. In any case, if you have issues with sound, try unchecking “Use virtual audio driver”

I use it to watch movies that I have on my pc. Link is the best way for it for me.

I tried unchecking virtual audio driver but still no sound. I have tried toggling it back on too.
Is there a way to reinstall the audio driver Vritual desktop uses? Thanks.

Try going to control panel, sound settings, manage audio devices, and see if oculus headphone is enabled. Everytime I connect using VD mine gets disabled for some reason. Btw, the wording for how you get to the manage audio devices is probably not exact - writing this by memory.

This worked! Now I have audio again!

When I launch VD it disables the audio device for some reason. I confirmed this ensuring the audio device is on and active, starting VD and it gets disabled. Must be a bug or something.

I'm having this same issue. Virtual Desktop disables quest as an audio output device. Is there an option that fixes this? The only reason I got virtual desktop was to watch movies from my computer and it's frustrating I'm not able to do that without enabling an audio device every time I connect my oculus.

I suggest realizing that wired use of the Quest is a common use case to start supporting.
