Additional Question: is there a way to demo the version on the Oculus store to ensure that the app works with my wireless internet speeds?
@ed.willson Virtual Desktop works via wifi. You can use Oculus Link to play using Oculus software, but it can be more laggy than Virtual Desktop (a bit higher fidelity though).
Because today’s Wi-Fi technology (Wi-Fi 5 or AC) can’t send and receive at the same time so devices take turn to send/receive data, Having the computer wired to the router, reduces the chatter in the airwaves considerably when streaming VR games at low latency.
Everyone except you apparently already knows that having a wired connection to your router greatly improves performance for PC VR.
Also why are you telling the developers "Bet you want people to go buy that $69 cord you sell"? They don't sell the cable, they're not Meta. Meta sells the Link cable.
Another point is that the Rift is inferior to the Quest 2 in almost every conceivable way. Lower resolution on the headset, worse controllers, worse tracking. So no, connecting a cable to the Quest 2 doesn't make it a Rift.
If you're going to rant at least get your facts right.
