Enhance graphics with Virtual Desktop
Hi guys, I know that I have already opened a discussion but I open another because it deals with another thing.
In practice, I recently bought an Oculus Quest
and I'm using it with the Virtual Desktop to play Half Life: Alyx...the problem is the graphics:
So, I put Alyx to Ultra and the game doesn't lick in any way, yet how come the graphics seem so "shabby" to me? I know VR and this is at too low a resolution and detail.
Is it thanks to the Quest? Yet I had read that once connected to the PC it became a real Rift in terms of technical details..why is it not so for me? Do I need to add any particular graphic settings to the Virtual Desktop or SteamVR settings? How can I do? I admit that I am feeling bad about it, I had informed myself before the purchase and I did not think it was so.
I thank you for any replies.
Ps. Sorry for the bad english

Oculus Quest specs:

Display panel: OLED
Display resolution: 1440 x 1600 per eye (Oculus Rift CV1 has 1080×1200 per eye)
72Hz refresh rate

Quest comes very close to the Rift S. In fact, its display is higher resolution than the Rift S, at 1,440 by 1,600 pixels compared with 1,280 by 1,440.

Yeah, exactly!
So why does my Quest run with such low graphics ?!
Yet the network runs smoothly and without drops, and the graphics are set high, what have I forgotten? What should I act on?

With steamVR games you can play with super-sampling to get a higher resolution, it's taxing on your hardware though but very effective to have a less blurry rendering.

With the Quest and Wi-Fi streaming, the image is compressed to video, sent over your Wi-Fi network, decompressed and re-projected on the Quest. Depending on how good your Wi-Fi network is (not all 5ghz routers are created equal) you might see video compression artifacts.

In practice playing with wifi you get a reworked image, while with ethernet you have the original resolution as if you were connected to the pc?

And how do I activate this option?

(Thanks for help)

No, even with Ethernet or USB, it’s not the same image quality as HDMI
