This would indicate a bug with the video encoding so I’d try updating your GPU drivers. What GPU do you have?

Hi, thx for your answer, gpu is 2070 super with the latest drivers (445.75).

I will reinstall the drivers but i don't have so much hope.

Make sure you have the latest Windows updates installed as well. Latest is 1909

Could be worth trying with a different preferred codec in the Streamer window but I haven’t heard or seen this before

I tried all the codecs and format the pc without luck, I was testing ALVR and it seems to work without problems, right now I am without ideas xD.

Exactly the same problem on my Quest 2, and I also have a RTX 2070 Super video card, there are doubts that this is just a coincidence..
(all drivers are new and windows is the latest version)

Have Wi-Fi 6 router ASUS RT-AX55, speed 1200 Mbps

At the same time, this effect is fixed if you open the Virtual Desktop menu after starting the game and click "Switch to VR", after which the picture remains clear until you restart the game or load a new level in some games. (but it doesn't work in every game)

An important addition to the above, this effect seems to be observed only when launching games through Steam VR, for example, the same TWD: S&S which is also purchased in steam, but with VD, the menu is launched bypassing Steam VR does not show such glitches.

How fix this? I paid the full price for this program in the Oculus store, even though all the apps there are super expensive for my country, since there is no support for regional prices as in Steam. And man vaughn says that even in the free program from competitors, this joint is missing. Isn't that what we pay for to get a quality product?

Usually this issue is caused by overclocking of the GPU. Make sure you aren’t overclocking it or having programs like MSI Afterburner messing with it

I have only Aorus Engine, the official program from Gigabyte that comes with the video card.
But there is nothing overclocked except the speed of the fans.
And in general, this program did not run after installation, a long time ago.

Perhaps the default graphics card is slightly overclocked by the manufacturer itself?..

The MSI Afterburner itself is not exactly installed.

I put 1605 MHz in this program as in the official stock version of this video card produced by Nvidia itself and it seems that there are no more artifacts.

But it would be nice if we still fixed this flaw in the Virtual Desktop app, because no glitches are observed when playing without VD, even in similar streaming programs from competitors.

The problem seems to be buried somewhere between the voltage and Steam VR. I hope for a quick fix.

If there is no such problem in ALVR, it means that the error is somewhere at the program level..

This problem needs to be solved, since it occurs without any overclocking, with stock video cards out of the box, and this is not the case. Am I not right?

Only happens to a very very small number of people and you can’t compare to ALVR as they use a completely different approach, API, etc. There’s data corruption and because Virtual Desktop uses an infinite GOP length with its video encoding, those errors add up and don’t get corrected. Not interested in hampering the quality or introduce stutters to solve an issue affecting 0.001% of users

It is not necessary to make the setting that solves this problem enabled for all by default, you can just make a check mark in the options for such cases.

In general, most companies that sell video cards from Nvidia add built-in overclocking, so with the popularization of VR, more and more people will start to face similar problems. Who knows, maybe this is also what was meant when Oculus representatives said that Virtual Desktop is not a reliable way to connect VR to a PC..
After all, if people start to face such a thing, it will cause huge damage to the reputation of Oculus VR.

And even if the percentage of those faced with such a problem is not great, does this mean that you need to consider people who are so unlucky not worthy of a solution, despite the fact that they paid like everyone else. It reminds me of the situation with separate buses for blacks.. or something like that.

Owners of Nvidia video cards matter. :)
