You mean the Virtual Desktop window when watching a 360 video? It will remain visible if the controller beam intersects the window or if your physical mouse moves. It should auto-hide otherwise.

Not the virtual desktop window itself, but a control bar to stop, play, advance the video....its not auto hiding even without any mouse movement.

Like the VLC control bar at the bottom? It usually hides when the mouse doesn’t move; Virtual Desktop shouldn’t interfere here, unless of course the controllers intersect with the screen, causing the mouse to move.

Yep...this one: https://imgur.com/a/SL0NM
Its not hiding even withou any mouse movement. I installed the older version from Steam and it auto hide on that so its specific to last version.
Found the old version 1.7.2 also have a option on video playpack "hide overlay" This doesnt exist on last version.

That’s the Virtual Desktop window overlay. The “hide overlay” checkbox was for a very specific use (users who didn’t want to ever show it so I made it a command line argument instead).

It should auto-hide when your mouse stops moving but it looks like something is causing your mouse to move. Maybe you have an Xbox Controller or gamepad thumbstick not centered correctly?

No. only a Thrustmaster steering wheel. My mouse cursor is working fine, with version 1.7.2 the bar is hidden when i dont touch the mouse and reapear with the slight movement. I also noticed the overlay is different with 1.7.2. There are more options on the bar. With last problematic version i can only control the video, not VD options like 1.7.2. Here is what i get on screen with older version. This hidden ok when i stop the mouse and reapear fine when i touch it.

You have the compact mode turned on in the new version (that’s the button on the far right of the play button); this is why the window is smaller.

Do you have the Xbox controller option checked in the new version? That might be what causes the window to stay visible. I’ll look into it.

Nope...xbox controller is unticked. I just hope when there will be a new version the old version 1.7.2 is not removed from steam. That one is the only way i can use the program to watch videos now.

Can you email me a dxdiag to guy at vrdesktop.net, you likely have a mouse that sends button presses or movements when there is none and I can’t quite detect those cases. Thanks!

Sure. But why 1.7.2 version works fine? If what you say is happening that version should have the same problem no?

1.7.2 uses a different technique to monitor mouse movement. It couldn’t detect mouse clicks, wheel scrolls and used quite a bit of CPU. The new technique performs better and gives me information about mouse clicks as well.

Where should i send the email? vrdesktop.net send me back to steam page.

Tried again with another mouse and also with a small control used for android boxes emulating a mouse and no standard mouse conected. Same problem.

Solved. If anyone have the same problem, on my case it was caused by a wireless mini mouse/keyboard like this one. https://http2.mlstatic.com/controle-remoto-air-mouse-c120-computador-tv-box-projetor-pc-D_NQ_NP_793315-MLB25213184681_122016-F.webp
Thanks ggodin for your support.
